THINGS TO DO
Koru originates from the ancient Maori symbol which translates into the English word “spiral.” The indigenous residents of New Zealand use this term to describe a blessing of new beginnings, peace, tranquility, harmony and good health. Such are the virtues of Koru Village. Expand your horizons and take a journey through our village.
Koru Village’s Oceanfront Beach Klub is the answer to why you wanted to get married at the beach in the first place! The venue offers couples a 4,000 square foot covered pavilion, tables and chairs for up to 200 guests, a catering kitchen, a private boardwalk to the beach, plenty of parking, state-of-the-art lighting systems, and access to tiki bar options. The Beach Klub is the only venue of its kind on the Outer Banks.
The Avon Fishing Pier opened its doors in 1963 and was the final pier to be built on Hatteras Island. And for all practical purposes the only one left in full operation. The Avon Fishing Pier is world famous with its many record catches, especially with the giant Red Drum that frequent the waters. Or simply enjoy the beauty by sightseeing off the pier to gain a whole new perspective of the island.
